Senior Field Technician — HVAC & BAS Systems

Job summary

ADP, Inc. leads the field service team for electrical systems and building automation/HVAC controls in the Orlando area. The Lead Service Technician inspects, maintains, troubleshoots, and repairs building systems, responding to service requests, performing routine maintenance, and upgrading equipment.

The role requires reading schematics, programming BAS platforms, and documenting work orders, while communicating clearly with customers and site managers. Some night shifts may be needed.

Qualifications

• Minimum three years of combined experience in commercial HVAC controls, BAS, electrical, and repair work.
• Experience troubleshooting commercial HVAC control systems and BAS platforms.
• Proficient with sensors, actuators, dampers, VFDs, thermostats, and controller wiring.
• Strong communication with customers and use of electronic work order systems.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair electrical systems, equipment, and commercial HVAC controls/BAS in the field.
• Respond to service calls, including emergency and on-call requests.
• Perform routine maintenance, controls calibration, equipment upgrades, and corrective repairs on HVAC control systems.
• Read and interpret electrical schematics, HVAC controls diagrams, blueprints, specifications, and technical documents.
• Program, configure, and troubleshoot BAS software and controllers.
• Document service activities using electronic work order systems.
• Close out electronic work orders with detailed records.
• Maintain communication with department manager.
• Communicate with customers to explain diagnoses and repairs.
• Educate customers on equipment operation and safety.
• Identify and report potential design or performance issues.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
