Job summary

Kodiak Gas Services is seeking a fully proficient, senior field technician responsible for operating compressor packages, gas processes, and rentals. You will lead repair, troubleshooting, and preventative maintenance while mentoring others and ensuring high reliability of equipment.

Position requires deep knowledge of gas processes and compressor mechanics, along with strong data and customer relationship skills. Expect 24/7 coverage, on-call rotations, and potential backfill of lead roles.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Completion of Kodiak’s SSE program with 3+ years in intermediate Field Technician role.
• Deep knowledge of gas processes and compressor mechanics (Waukesha, Ariel, Caterpillar).
• 5+ years in compression, production, and related equipment experience.
• Advanced electrical troubleshooting skills.
• Excellent teamwork, communication, and analytical abilities.
• Proficiency with compressor packages and their components.
• English reading/writing/speaking proficiency.

Responsibilities

• Directs, coordinates, and performs activities aligned with company goals and Kodiak procedures.
• Troubleshoot complex repairs, major equipment overhauls, and operation.
• Troubleshoot and repair electrical issues.
• Participate in all HSE activities; safety expert and role model.
• Cultivate and maintain customer relationships.
• Maintain 98%+ mechanical availability of equipment.
• Provide input on personnel needs and area budgeting/planning.
• Communicate parts availability to Supply Chain; ensure sufficient stock.
• Maintain assigned units in clean and presentable condition.
• Provide 24/7 coverage; overtime/on-call as required.
• May backfill lead; perform additional tasks as assigned.
