Job summary

Rick Engineering Company in Riverside, CA is seeking a Field Survey Manager to lead the land surveying department and manage key client projects. The role requires strong leadership, deep surveying expertise, and proficiency with Civil 3D and Trimble software.

You will supervise field staff, ensure safety, and oversee proposals and project finances. The ideal candidate will have a CA PLS or reciprocity within 1 year and at least eight years of land surveying experience, plus a related degree.

Qualifications

• Eight years of land surveying experience
• A.S. or B.S. in land surveying or equivalent
• California PLS or reciprocity within 1 year of start date
• Ability to lead and manage a survey department
• Strong communication and leadership skills
• Proficiency in survey software and office tools

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain client relationships across owners, developers, agencies, contractors
• Implement business strategy across the survey department
• Prepare and oversee proposals, contracts, and project financials
• Ensure compliance with federal, state and local surveying laws and procedures
• Oversee survey field staff safety and procedures
• Apply coordinate geometry, CAD, and survey calculations for design and topographic surveys
• Prepare boundary, ALTA, and subdivision surveys and maps
• Manage and mentor staff, conduct evaluations and recruitment
• Maintain daily field diaries, quality control, and timesheets
