Job summary

Peckham Industries Inc. is seeking a Superintendent II to lead multiple active projects including DOT and night paving.

Reporting to the Project Manager, this advanced field leadership role combines on-site supervision with mentoring and training to raise the performance of field teams. You will ensure safety, quality, and schedules, maintain detailed logs, manage production plans, and cost control, while fostering collaboration among field crews, plant operators, and project managers across

Qualifications

• 7+ years of highway, DOT, and/or night paving experience.
• Proven track record as Superintendent or similar leadership role.
• Strong knowledge of asphalt paving, milling, grading, heavy highway work.
• Ability to train others and share knowledge across teams.
• Solid understanding of budgets, job costing, and crew planning.
• Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office; familiarity with scheduling or construction software is a plus.
• Ability to read and interpret project specs and plans.
• Authorized to work in the U.S.

Responsibilities

• Oversee multiple job sites with safety, quality, production, and scheduling focus.
• Manage JPPs, short-term schedules, and pre-construction activities with PM.
• Maintain daily logs, progress tracking, and contract/spec understanding.
• Resolve field issues with cost savings and forecasting with Cost Accountant.
• Lead toolbox talks and safety meetings; mentor foremen and crew leaders.
• Ensure communication between field teams, PMs, operators, and internal groups.
