Job summary

ABB is seeking an experienced Service Manager to lead and execute field service work for critical power equipment. This role is located in Atlanta, GA, with a remote work model and on-site customer engagements to identify operational improvements and address technical issues.

You will oversee installation, commissioning, maintenance, repairs, and replacements, while coaching technicians, overseeing safety, and ensuring quality standards are met.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or Electrical Engineering Technology with 6+ years’ experience servicing critical power equipment.
• Associates Degree in electrical technology with 8+ years’ experience in servicing critical power equipment.
• High School Diploma/GED and equivalent work/military experience (10+ years) servicing critical power equipment.

Responsibilities

• Work on-site with customers to identify opportunities for operational improvement and eliminate pain points.
• Perform field service tasks, including identifying technical issues and on-site troubleshooting within certified areas.
• Execute installation and commissioning, maintenance, repairs, extensions, upgrades, retrofits, end-of-life services, and replacements.
• Support the certification process of Associate Field Service Technicians and Field Service Technicians; coach technicians and supervise complex site activities.
• Prepare material lists for service activities and ensure all materials, parts, and equipment meet quality standards.
• Identify opportunities for product and quality improvements and communicate them to management.
