Job summary

ABB in the United States is seeking a Field Service Engineer to execute service work of medium to high complexity per ABB guidelines, delivering excellent customer service and identifying opportunities to improve system performance in the installed base.

This remote role serves the Vancouver, WA area in the Electrification Service division, performing startup, commissioning, troubleshooting, and repairs on Power Delivery equipment, and leading outages with field teams.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED with 5+ years relevant experience.
• Technical skills in testing of power distribution and delivery to include LV and MV breakers, switchgear, relays and transformers.
• Experience in testing, commissioning, startup and troubleshooting of medium voltage synchronous machines and PLCs.

Responsibilities

• Provide knowledge of and conduct work activities in compliance with ABB HSE, ABB Way, and Safety policies.
• Hands-on execution of projects including startup, commissioning, troubleshooting, engineering, design and repair of Power Delivery equipment.
• Lead outages with field engineers, technicians, and contractors; manage project documentation and reports.
• Plan, organize, and perform field assignments; direct work of others as required.
• Develop and expand technical knowledge to current industry standards.
• Plan and/or instruct internal and external training programs to impart field knowledge.
• Prepare technical reports, materials orders, quotations, job status reports, and time/expense tracking.
