Job summary

Kodiak Gas Services is seeking a fully proficient Field Technician to operate compressor packages, gas processes, and rentals at our San Angelo site. This senior role includes mentoring, advanced diagnostics, and potential backfill for leadership tasks.

You will troubleshoot complex repairs, coordinate with the Area Manager, and ensure 98%+ mechanical availability while supporting safety and customer relations. Requires extensive field experience and valid driver’s license.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
• Successful completion of Kodiak’s SSE program and 3+ years in an intermediate field technician role.
• Deep knowledge in gas processes and compressor mechanics (Waukesha, Ariel, CAT).
• Total 5+ years in compression production and equipment experience.
• Advanced electrical troubleshooting skills.
• Strong teamwork, communication, and problem-solving abilities.

Responsibilities

• Direct, coordinate, and perform field activities aligned with Kodiak goals.
• Troubleshoot complex repairs and major equipment overhauls.
• Troubleshoot and repair electrical systems.
• Participate in HSE activities and model safety procedures.
• Build and maintain customer relationships.
• Ensure high equipment availability (98%+).
• Provide input on staffing and budgeting.
• Communicate parts and inventory needs to Supply Chain.
• Maintain clean, well-presented units and complete required reports.
• Provide 24/7 coverage; overtime and on-call rotations.
