Senior Field Service Technician – Energy Storage (BESS)

Job summary

e-STORAGE is seeking a Sr. Service Technician to join our field service team in the United States. You will commission SolBank Storage Power Blocks, perform preventive and corrective maintenance, and manage LTSA obligations for BESS equipment across multiple sites.

Travel to project sites across the US (over 50% of the time) is required. Candidates should have energy storage experience, inverter knowledge, OSHA 30 or higher, and strong problem-solving and safety skills.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of relevant work experience in a service environment, preferably in renewable energy.
• OSHA 30 Certification (OSHA 10 accepted if OSHA 30 is obtained soon after hire).
• Previous training and knowledge of inverters.
• SCADA experience is beneficial.
• Knowledge of general and national codes, medium voltage power systems, and Energy Storage system applications is an asset.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Demonstrated proficiency with MS Office Applications (Word, Excel).
• Previous experience with a CMMS software program is preferred.
• Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
• First Aid Trained
• Ability to travel to regional locations as needed (over 50% of the time)

Responsibilities

• Commission CSI Energy Storage’s SolBank Storage Power Block
• Perform preventative and corrective maintenance of SPBs to adhere to warranty requirements
• Manage obligations for BESS equipment under LTSA’s, which may include:
• Energy Storage Cabinets (ESC’s)
• Power Conversion Stations (PCS)
• Ring Main Units (RMU’s) / Switchgear
• Transformers
• SCADA and networking devices
• Provide onsite diagnostic, troubleshooting, and hands-on support to maintain equipment and meet availability and capacity guarantees
• Oversee and supervise sub-contractors on site when required
• Assist in developing standard operating procedures and processes
• Complete work order documentation in a timely manner
• Ensure accuracy of spare parts inventory
• Perform proper Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) and switching procedures as needed
• Support client training during commissioning
• Adhere to all health and safety rules and policies
• Complete other duties and projects as assigned
