Qualifications

  • Krav på Bachelornivå inom elektroteknik eller tillhörande område med 4+ års erfarenhet av kritisk kraftutrustning.
  • Senior kommunikationsförmåga i skrift och tal samt samarbetsförmåga.
  • Mycket goda kunskaper i MS Office och projektplanering.
  • Förmåga att skriva testplaner och rapporter samt hålla deadlines.
  • Arbeta säkert och ansvarsfullt i administrativa uppgifter.

Responsibilities

  • Arbeta on-site med kunder för att identifiera operativa förbättringar och eliminera problem.
  • Utföra fältservice, felsökning på plats inom certifierade områden.
  • Genomföra installation och commissioning, underhåll, reparationer och uppgraderingar.
  • Stödja certifieringsprocesser för Associate/Field Service Technicians och coacha teamet.
  • Förbereda materiallistor och säkerställa tillgång till reservdelar av hög kvalitet.
  • Främja kundnöjdhet genom god kommunikation och identifiera sales-möjligheter.
  • Ge rekommendationer till ledningen för förbättringar av processer och service.

The Division’s technical teams work closely with industry partners, delivering advanced solutions that support rapid growth, energy transition, and sustainability objectives. The Division’s portfolio includes industrial circuit breakers, low-voltage systems, motor starting applications, and safety devices like switches and relays. Its Power Protection unit supports the world’s largest data center companies with advanced energy-efficient UPS solutions. The Division’s ABB Ability™ Energy Manager provides a scalable, easy-to-use platform that helps organizations save energy and reduce CO2 emissions.

The work model for the role is: Remote {#LI-Remote}, successful candidates will be located in North Dakota.

Your role and responsibilities
  • Work on-site with customers to identify opportunities for operational improvement and eliminate pain points.

  • Perform field service tasks, including identifying technical issues and conducting on-site troubleshooting within certified areas.

  • Execute installation and commissioning, maintenance, repairs, extensions, upgrades, retrofits, end-of-life services, and replacements.

  • Support the certification process of Associate Field Service Technicians and Field Service Technicians. Coach technicians and supervise complex site activities. Act as trainers when needed, for team members and customers.

  • Prepare material lists for service activities and ensure all materials, parts, and equipment meet quality standards and are available. Proactively identify potential equipment failures and recommend corrective actions.

  • Contribute to customer satisfaction by building and maintaining positive relationships. Identify potential new sales opportunities while addressing customer needs and communicate them internally.

  • Identify opportunities for product and quality improvements. Provide recommendations to management for improving operations and customer service.

  • Follow safety protocols and maintain safe work and environmental practices. Report unsafe practices and incidents.

Qualifications for the role
  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or Electrical Engineering Technology with 4+ years’ experience servicing critical power equipment OR Associates Degree in electrical technology with 6+ years’ experience in servicing critical power equipment OR High School Diploma/GED and equivalent work and/or military experience (8+ years) servicing critical power equipment.

  • Advanced level ability to interact and communicate (written and verbal) information to varying levels within the organization. Collaborates well with others.

  • Advanced level of ability to use Microsoft Office products. Moderate ability to Project Manage using MS Project or Excel.

  • Advanced ability to write test plans and reports detailing test results.

  • Advanced ability to stay organized and meet deadlines on administrative duties.

  • Works with a sense of urgency and ownership; until the job is complete!

  • Candidates must already have work authorization that would permit them to work for ABB in the US.

While base salary is determined by things such as the successful applicant’s qualifications and experience, this position is expected to pay between $68,600 and $109,760 annually.
