Job summary

Ciena is the global leader in high-speed connectivity, delivering network transformations for US Federal Government customers. As a Senior Level Field Service Technician, you will support deployments, troubleshoot complex issues, and drive modernization of customer networks, including advanced upgrades and migrations.

This role requires 8–12 years telecom experience, a degree in CS or EE, US citizenship, ability to travel 50–75%, and potential DoD SECRET clearance.

Qualifications

• 8–12 years of telecom installation, provisioning, testing, live network migration, and consulting.
• Strong knowledge of Ciena products, especially 6500.
• US citizenship and valid driver's license.
• Willing to travel domestically and internationally as needed.

Responsibilities

• Deliver Tier 1 technical support for deployment services projects.
• Provide remote and onsite support, troubleshoot complex issues, mentor technicians.
• Execute advanced network upgrades and migrations without impacting end-user services.
• Draft network test plans and MOPs to ensure stable operations.
• Collaborate with teams to improve deployment processes.
