Job summary

ASM is seeking a Senior Field Service Engineer based in Boise, Idaho to install, troubleshoot, and repair advanced semiconductor capital equipment. You will deliver on-site service and support customers across domestic and international locations, ensuring equipment performance, reliability, and safety.

You will read schematics, perform preventive maintenance, upgrades, and document findings. Travel 25–75% and collaborate with global teams to resolve issues and drive uptime.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or equivalent military technical training in Electronics/EM Tech.
• 5+ years in field service, customer support, or semiconductor manufacturing with complex capital equipment.
• Strong ability to troubleshoot microprocessor-controlled electro-mechanical systems.
• Ability to read electrical/electronic/electro-mechanical schematics and drawings.
• Experience with preventive maintenance, installations, repairs and diagnostics.
• Proficiency with oscilloscopes, DVMs, and diagnostic tools.
• Excellent written and verbal English communication skills.
• Proficient in MS Office applications.

Responsibilities

• Install, qualify, perform preventive maintenance, and repair complex semiconductor capital equipment.
• Troubleshoot electrical, electronic, mechanical, and software issues in customer environments.
• Provide timely, professional technical support and maintain high customer satisfaction.
• Interpret schematics and technical documentation to diagnose issues.
• Support equipment upgrades and process improvements as required.
• Document service actions and findings accurately.
• Collaborate with engineering and support teams to resolve issues and improve equipment performance.
