Job summary

Forgent Power is seeking a Level 5 Switchgear Field Engineer in Dallas, TX to lead complex field service activities for MV/HV switchgear, providing technical authority on installation, commissioning, maintenance, and modernization.

You will lead on-site safety, coordinate with customers and project teams, mentor junior engineers, and drive quality, schedule adherence, and continuous improvement across outages, testing, and repair efforts.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent practical experience.
MV/HV switchgear, breakers, and protection & control systems experience.
Ability to lead field crews and manage on-site execution for complex commissioning and service events.
Strong knowledge of electrical safety practices (NFPA 70E) and arc-flash controls.
Ability to read schematics, wiring diagrams, and one-lines and document test results.

Responsibilities

Lead field execution for switchgear installation, commissioning, and service.
Plan and perform advanced diagnostics for equipment and protection/control issues.
Coordinate with PMs, engineering, and customers during outages and testing.
Mentor junior engineers/technicians and ensure safety and quality.
