Job summary

PwrQ Holdings LLC in Minneapolis, MN seeks a Level 5 Field Service Engineer to lead complex field service activities on medium- and high-voltage switchgear. You will install, commission, maintain, troubleshoot, and modernize systems, mentor junior technicians, and ensure safe, on-time execution.

Responsibilities include diagnostics, protection relay commissioning, testing, and coordination with customers, project teams, and supply chain.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
• Typically 8+ years of field experience with MV/HV switchgear, breakers, and protection & control systems.
• Proven ability to lead field crews and on-site execution for complex commissioning/service events.
• Strong knowledge of electrical safety practices (NFPA 70E/OSHA) including LOTO and arc-flash controls.
• Proven ability to read and troubleshoot schematics, wiring diagrams, and one-lines.

Responsibilities

• Lead field execution for switchgear installation, commissioning, and service.
• Plan and perform advanced diagnostics for protection/control issues.
• Conduct testing and verification of protection relay settings with drawings and sequences of operation.
• Provide technical leadership during outages, turnarounds, and recovery events.
• Produce field service reports, punch lists, and nonconformance documentation.
