Joby Aviation is seeking a Senior Field Service Engineer to manage on-site engineering support for the J208 fleet and Ground Control Stations. You will diagnose complex issues spanning mechanical, electrical, avionics, and flight software, and brief stakeholders on health and readiness.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical/Mechanical/Aerospace or related field with 8+ years of experience.
• Active US Security Clearance or ability to obtain one.
• Willingness to travel ~50% domestically and internationally.
• Experience in field service engineering in deployed environments.

Responsibilities

• Own and manage engineering support workstreams for deployed J208 aircraft and Ground Control Stations.
• Diagnose and resolve complex multidisciplinary issues across mechanical, electrical, avionics, and flight software.
• Brief stakeholders on system health and mission readiness.
• Represent J208 to military and civil customers during field operations.
• Capture field anomalies and feedback for updates to products.
• Develop procedures and guidelines for flight tests and maintenance.
• Advise cross-functional teams on field maintenance and safety implications.
• Travel roughly 50% CONUS and OCONUS for on-site support.
