Job summary

Ladders is seeking a Field Service Engineer to own field support for startup, commissioning, troubleshooting, and reliability improvement of critical data center infrastructure. This senior role partners with design, operations, and service providers to boost maintainability, safety, and performance from a remote location.

You will lead a team, shape the field service operating model, and drive high‑impact improvements while collaborating with OEMs for escalations and repairs.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of hands-on experience in critical electrical, mechanical, or electromechanical infrastructure.
• Deep technical expertise in either electrical or mechanical systems with troubleshooting skills across disciplines.
• Experience in building and leading field engineering or maintenance teams.
• Proven track record in high-severity troubleshooting and reliability improvement.
• Ability to interpret technical documents like schematics and control diagrams.
• Strong safety judgment with experience in formal maintenance procedures.
• Excellent communication skills with diverse stakeholders.
• Bachelor's degree in engineering or related field, or equivalent experience.

Responsibilities

• Lead field support for startup, commissioning, troubleshooting, and reliability improvement of data center infrastructure.
• Serve as the senior technical owner for critical systems including transformers, UPS, and chillers.
• Diagnose complex failures and drive corrective actions through validation.
• Build the field service operating model, including staffing and performance metrics.
• Aid in hiring and developing field service engineers while fostering a culture of safety and accountability.
• Collaborate with design and operations teams to enhance maintainability and reliability.
• Manage relationships with OEMs and service providers for technical escalations and repairs.
• Establish safe work practices and improve maintenance procedures.
