Job summary

pro-beam is seeking a Senior Field Service Engineer to own the installation, commissioning, troubleshooting, and ongoing service of complex industrial machinery at customer sites and our Lombard, Illinois facility.

You will travel 50–80% across North America, interfacing with electrical and mechanical systems, PLCs, and machine controls. The role involves hands-on repair, preventive maintenance, and collaboration with German engineering teams to support high‑end manufacturing equipment.

Qualifications

Several years of hands-on field service, commissioning, installation, or industrial equipment experience.
Strong electrical and mechanical troubleshooting capabilities.
Experience reading electrical schematics and mechanical drawings, and interpreting technical documentation.
Ability to read PLCs and drive systems and to diagnose complex machine failures.
Willingness to travel 50–80% across North America and internationally for training.

Responsibilities

Install, commission, test, and service complex industrial machinery.
Troubleshoot failures across electrical, mechanical, controls, motion and process-related components.
Diagnose PLCs, HMIs, drives, motors, sensors, safety circuits, networks and peripherals.
Perform preventive maintenance, system upgrades, and equipment modifications.
Collaborate with engineering teams in Germany when additional support is required.
Document service activities, findings and recommendations.
Train customers and service personnel; support Lombard facility operations.
