Job summary

TaBb Talent Solutions represents a global leader in semiconductor manufacturing technology, seeking a Senior Field Service Engineer to support highly complex equipment in Hillsboro, Oregon. This role offers standard Monday–Friday hours with ~10 hours of overtime weekly and on-call pay.

You will install, maintain, and troubleshoot equipment, collaborate with engineering and support teams globally, and ensure detailed service documentation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field.
• 3–5+ years of field service experience with complex semiconductor equipment.
• Experience with customer-facing roles and strong communication.
• Familiarity with ultra-high vacuum systems and eBeam/magnetic optics.
• Proficient with Linux/UNIX command line environments.

Responsibilities

• Install, maintain, and repair advanced semiconductor equipment.
• Diagnose issues to maximize uptime and customer satisfaction.

This role is Monday-Friday, standard business hours with a flexible work schedule. Compensation is hourly with ~10 hours of OT weekly. On call requirements (with on call pay), which includes being paid for a minimum of four hours if a call is received.

Role Summary:

We are seeking a Senior Field Service Engineer to join a growing team supporting highly complex semiconductor manufacturing equipment in Hillsboro, Oregon. This position offers the opportunity to work directly with cutting-edge technology while serving as a key technical liaison between customers and a globally recognized engineering organization.

The Field Service Engineer will be responsible for equipment installation, preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and issue resolution within a customer production environment. Success in this role requires strong technical aptitude, excellent customer-facing communication skills, and the ability to effectively diagnose and resolve complex equipment challenges in a fast-paced setting.

Key responsibilities include:

• Performing installation, maintenance, and repair activities on advanced semiconductor equipment.
• Diagnosing and resolving technical issues to maximize customer uptime and satisfaction.
• Collaborating closely with engineering, operations, and support teams across global locations.
• Supporting customer escalations and participating in technical task force initiatives.
• Maintaining detailed service documentation and communicating status updates to leadership.
• Building strong relationships with customers and serving as a trusted onsite technical resource.
• Participating in daily operational meetings and coordinating service activities within a cleanroom manufacturing environment.
• Ensuring company service methodologies and best practices are consistently followed.

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in an Engineering discipline or related technical field.
• Field Service Engineering experience supporting complex equipment.
• 3-5+ years of customer-facing experience with strong communication skills.
• Familiarity with ultra-high vacuum systems.
• Knowledge of electron beam (eBeam) technology and/or magnetic optics.
• Working knowledge of Linux/UNIX operating systems and command-line environments.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, high-tech manufacturing environment.
• Strong interpersonal skills and a collaborative approach to teamwork.
