Job summary

Marathon Petroleum Corporation is seeking a Senior Personal Safety Professional to provide field leadership and safety expertise across Alaska and the Northwest region. You will support operations with risk assessments, safety program execution and incident response.

The role requires travel (40–50%), strong independent work skills, and collaboration with terminal leadership. A safety-related degree and industry certifications are preferred for this field-based position in Anchorage.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED with 6 years relevant experience or Bachelor’s with 4+ years relevant experience.
• Strong ability to manage complex projects with limited support.
• A valid Driver’s License is required.
• Experience in oil and gas safety preferred.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the local point of contact for safety programs across the coverage area.
• Lead monthly safety meetings and improve safety meeting quality.
• Provide safety training and evaluate Life Critical skills.
• Assess risks and develop risk-mitigation plans.
• Support field safety programs: Life Critical, Contractor Safety, IH, AWARE.
