Job summary

Summit Consulting is seeking a senior Risk Management field professional to conduct on-site risk assessments for workers' compensation policies in Maryland and Northern Virginia. You will analyze properties, identify exposures, and support underwriting with data-driven recommendations.

Travel is regular to client sites; a Bachelor's in Risk Management or related field is required, with 9+ years in loss control or risk management within P&C insurance. CSP/ARM desired.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Risk Management and Insurance, Safety Engineering, or a related field or equivalent experience.
• 9 years of experience in loss control, risk management, or a related field within property & casualty insurance.
• Professional designation (CSP/ARM/CFPS/CSHMS/ALCM/OHST) preferred.
• Work on assignments of moderate to higher technical and logistical complexity.
• Advanced analytical, risk assessment, and problem-solving skills.
• Strong knowledge of company policies and industry laws/regulations.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills and results-oriented consultative approach.

Responsibilities

• Conduct complex risk assessments of insured properties and operations to inform underwriting decisions.
• Identify risk exposures and formulate strategic recommendations to mitigate identified risks.
• Analyze loss data to identify trends and tailor loss prevention programs.
• Provide advanced technical guidance and training on safety and regulatory compliance.
• Deliver joint marketing presentations with underwriting, claims, and sales to accounts and agents.
• Potential coaching responsibilities for staff.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
