Job summary

Kiewit is seeking a Senior Project Manager for a transportation construction project. The role involves 80–90% field work, governing organization, work methods, scheduling, cost control, and conformity with drawings and specs to deliver the project through the team.

You will maintain positive relationships with clients, engineers, suppliers and subcontractors, oversee safety and quality, and mentor entry and midlevel engineers on project controls and procedures.

Qualifications

• 10+ years’ related experience in construction
• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or related field
• Advanced knowledge of construction disciplines, union agreements and safety regulations
• Self-starter with ability to work with minimal supervision
• Strong leadership, planning, and contract administration

Responsibilities

• Manage and direct project teams to meet goals; ensure scope, schedule and budget are defined
• Establish project procedures, controls, schedules and budgets
• Serve as project representative with client, constructors, subcontractors and vendors
• Coordinate training and compliance measures
• Identify and secure approvals for changes in scope, budget or schedule
• Maintain ongoing communication with client and adjust deliverables as needed
• Ensure work products meet industry standards and codes
• Provide training and mentoring to entry and midlevel engineers
• Track and budget progress with project milestones
