Job summary

Matrix Service Company seeks a Field Project Engineer III to oversee and monitor the design and project management team for major projects. You will coordinate technical deliverables, support discipline engineering, and develop basic engineering documents including system layouts and major equipment specs.

You will serve as the primary technical contact with clients on large initiatives, ensuring adherence to manuals, procedures, and contract documents while providing cost and schedule

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s of Science in Mechanical, Chemical, or Electrical Engineering, or Construction Management or other related discipline required.
• 5+ years of heavy industrial experience in field engineering, project engineering, or construction management required.
• Demonstrated experience in chemical plants, liquid terminals, natural gas liquids or LNG is preferred.
• Understanding of industrial construction processes, structures, and construction technologies.
• Travel must be possible; initial assignments will be field positions at construction sites across North America with periodic office stints.

Responsibilities

• Oversee design and project management activities for the business unit, coordinating technical deliverables.
• Serve as primary technical contact with the client on major projects and supervise engineering coordination.
• Ensure work aligns with approved manuals, contract documents, and good engineering practices.
• Monitor project costs, budgets, and change controls; assist in change order negotiations.
• Attend client program meetings and communicate project status to leadership.
