Job summary

Nokia in Baltimore, MD is seeking a Senior Network Design Engineer to lead planning and optimisation of carrier networks for customers. You will manage end-to-end design activities, including site surveys, capacity planning, and developing HLD/LLD for medium-high complexity requirements.

The role requires a degree in engineering or a technical field and at least 5 years of experience, plus strong Python automation, knowledge of GPON, XGS, 25G, SDAN, NETCONF, YANG, and Layer 2/3 IP QoS.

Qualifications

• A degree in engineering or a technical field with at least 5 years of work experience.
• Knowledge of Access Technologies (GPON, XGS, 25G).
• Knowledge of SDAN / NETCONF / YANG.
• Knowledge of Layer 2/Layer 3 IP protocols, QoS.
• Knowledge of Automation using Python.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Plan and manage the design and optimisation of customer network solutions.
• Prepare end-to-end design artifacts (HLD/LLD) for medium-high complexity requirements.
• Develop configurations for new network elements for live and testing environments.
• Troubleshoot live network issues and provide engineering support.
