Job summary

Nokia in Baltimore, MD is seeking a Senior Network Design Engineer to lead planning and optimisation of carrier networks for customers. You will manage end-to-end design activities, including site surveys, capacity planning, and developing HLD/LLD for medium-high complexity requirements.

The role requires a degree in engineering or a technical field and at least 5 years of experience, plus strong Python automation, knowledge of GPON, XGS, 25G, SDAN, NETCONF, YANG, and Layer 2/3 IP QoS.

Customer Services (CS) covers customer service in different areas such as technical support, account support, operations, maintenance, network design / deployment / integration / transformation, and education. Generates revenue and the increase of customer satisfaction through planning, designing, deploying, integrating, optimising, operating, and maintaining phases.

Subfamily Description

NW Design & Optimisation (NWD) comprises the planning and / or managing the planning of communications networks for customers. Covers consultation of customers on communication network performance. Contains optimisation and / or managing of the optimisation of customer networks. Covers the execution of end-to-end design-related activities (address surveys, site surveys, design and as-built) for deployment projects. Develops HLD/LLD for medium-high complexity network requirements, capacity planning, network interface analysis, and provide overall engineering support. Uses planning tools in Advanced Network Planning. Consult and independently develops configuration file, capacity planning, network. interface analysis and design, and overall engineering support based on ongoing traffic trends. Works in parameter planning, product dimensioning. Prepares configuration for new network elements for live and testing. Troubleshooting activities for live network problems or issues found during acceptance.

You have:

• A degree in engineering or a technical field and at least 5 years of work experience
