Job summary

Apache Corporation is seeking a Lease Operator Sr to supervise on-site coordination of contractors during new-well completions and workovers and to perform related duties. The role includes gauging production, maintaining lease equipment, and ensuring safe operations.

Successful candidates will perform pump and equipment maintenance, monitor safety systems, and support engineering understanding while maintaining meticulous records and writing skills.

Qualifications

• The successful candidate will have the following qualifications and experience.
• High school diploma.
• 10+ years of relevant experience.
• Must have a general knowledge of safe oil and gas production operations.
• Must have an interest in gaining knowledge of engineering principles and an understanding of subsurface and surface equipment and operations.
• Must be able to perform simple mathematic calculations, have good mechanical aptitude, good writing skills and have a good safety and driving record.
• Demonstrated proficiency with PC based computer applications.

Responsibilities

• Gauge production on assigned wells, and report gauge readings, downtime and other pertinent well information.
• Perform lease maintenance and minor repairs; trim weeds, clean up trash, and service lease equipment.
• Note problems and recommend corrective actions to decrease costs and increase production.
• Assist in meter calibrations and monitor injection/disposal wells; adjust as needed and test safety systems daily.
• Assist with pump changes and downhole equipment on artificial lift wells; assist with pump and compressor maintenance.
• Ensure safe and environmentally compliant operation of wells and leases.
• Execute additional tasks as directed by supervisor specific to the area.
