Job summary

ERM is seeking an experienced Senior Consultant, Field Lead Archaeologist to spearhead fieldwork and regulatory analysis across the United States, informing responsible development and environmental decisions.

You will play a key role in identifying and protecting culturally significant resources, navigating complex regulations, and delivering high-quality reports to clients and agencies. This role includes fieldwork (up to 75%), travel, and collaboration within a multidisciplinary team.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Anthropology, Archaeology, or related field.
• 3+ years (4+ preferred) of professional experience.
• Experience as Field Lead in the Southwest.
• Eligibility for BLM, ARPA, and applicable state cultural resource permits.
• Strong knowledge of NHPA Section 106 regulations.

Responsibilities

• Lead and contribute to Class I, II, and III archaeological investigations across diverse landscapes in the Pacific Northwest.
• Support compliance with NHPA Section 106 and NRHP eligibility evaluations.
• Deliver high-quality technical reporting for federal, state, and local environmental decisions.
• Strengthen ERM’s cultural resources practice through client engagement and multidisciplinary collaboration.
• Help shape project strategies through planning, logistics, and execution in a consulting environment.
