Job summary

WSP Global Inc. in Seattle, WA is seeking a motivated Construction Inspector to join our Construction Management team.

You will provide on-site inspection services for transportation, municipal, utility, and infrastructure projects throughout the Pacific Northwest, monitoring construction activities, documenting progress, and ensuring compliance with plans and specifications. This role covers roadways, bridges, transit facilities, utility improvements, and multimodal infrastructure.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum of 11 years of construction inspection experience on public works or heavy civil projects.
• Working knowledge of roadway, bridge, utility, transit, or municipal infrastructure construction.
• Ability to read and interpret plans, specifications, shop drawings, and contract documents.
• Strong written communication and documentation skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
• Valid driver's license and ability to travel to project sites.

Responsibilities

• Perform daily inspection of contractor operations to verify compliance with plans, specifications, permits, and contract requirements.
• Prepare detailed daily inspection reports documenting workforce, equipment, materials, work activities, weather conditions, and significant events.
• Verify completed quantities and maintain supporting documentation for contractor payments.
• Monitor traffic control, public safety measures, and temporary erosion and sediment control practices.
• Coordinate and document field testing and material acceptance activities.
• Review material certifications, test results, and quality documentation.
• Maintain project records, photographs, field notes, and as-built documentation.
• Identify and communicate construction issues, potential conflicts, and non-conforming work.
• Attend project meetings and coordinate with contractors, owners, utilities, and project team members.
• Support change order documentation and field issue resolution.
• Promote a strong culture of safety and compliance on all projects.
• Exercise responsible and ethical decision-making regarding company funds, resources and conduct, and adhere to WSP's Code of Conduct and related policies and procedures.
• Perform additional responsibilities as required by business needs.
