Job summary

Greenman-Pedersen, Inc. (GPI) is seeking Senior Construction Inspectors to provide inspection services on road and bridge projects across Connecticut for CTDOT, Turnpike, and Transit programs.

You will observe contractor work, ensure compliance with plans and specs, and assist the Resident Engineer with daily activities. The role requires outdoor work, valid driver’s license, and the ability to read plans and write clear reports.

Qualifications

• BS in Civil Engineering or 4 years of NICET II experience.
• Must have a valid driver’s license.
• Prior experience in construction inspection.
• Ability to work outdoors and perform physical tasks.
• Work hours may include nights and weekends.
• Certifications such as ACI Concrete Construction Special Inspector, Concrete Field Testing Technician, Asphalt Technician Certification, NICET II, OSHA 10 Hour Construction Training are preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Resident Engineer with project administration.
• Prepare daily reports and quantity calculations; report construction work observed.
• Perform daily inspection of work activities, including sampling and field testing of concrete per ASTM standards; density testing of asphalt/soil.
