Job summary

HDR is seeking a Fuels Inspector to join our Environmental, Operations and Construction team in a role that supports federal program delivery. The position involves inspecting electrical, mechanical/HVAC, and site civil elements, while mentoring junior staff and coordinating with Project Managers on field projects.

Qualifications

• Requires high school diploma or equivalent (candidates with 8 years of relevant construction inspection experience may substitute).
• Minimum of 5 years experience in construction inspection.
• Proficient with MS Office (Word/Excel/Outlook).
• Strong written communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Active participation in employee-owned culture is a must.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrate familiarity with a broad spectrum of construction materials, methods and processes for buildings and facilities.
• Conduct inspection of electrical, mechanical/HVAC and site civil.
• Mentor junior field staff and provide supervision as needed.
• Collaborate with other field representatives or Project Managers.
• Read and interpret construction drawings and specifications, and identify discrepancies or conflicts within documents.
• Conduct and document observations of construction as it progresses.
• Serve as the most senior inspector on projects as needed.
• Perform other duties as needed.
