Job summary

HDR is seeking a Senior Facility Construction Inspector to lead inspection activities on building projects in a highly collaborative environment. You will interpret drawings, monitor progress, and ensure safety and quality on site.

The role requires a minimum of 5 years of inspection experience, a high school diploma or equivalent, and proficiency with MS Office. Local candidates preferred in the Pittsburgh area, with full-time employment.

Qualifications

• Requires high school diploma or equivalent (8 years of relevant inspection experience may substitute).
• Minimum of 5 years experience in construction inspection or related field.
• Proficient with MS Office (Word/Excel/Outlook).
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team; adaptable in an employee-owned culture.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrate familiarity with construction materials, methods and processes for buildings and facilities.
• Conduct inspection of electrical, mechanical/HVAC and site civil work.
• Mentor junior field staff and provide supervision as needed.
• Collaborate with Project Managers and other field representatives.
• Read and interpret construction drawings and specifications; identify discrepancies.
• Document observations of construction progress.
• Serve as the most senior inspector on projects when needed.
• Perform other duties as needed.

In the role of Senior Facility Construction Inspector, we'll count on you to:

• Demonstrate familiarity with a broad spectrum of construction materials, methods and processes for buildings and facilities
• Conduct inspection of electrical, mechanical/HVAC and site civil
• Mentor junior field staff and provide supervision as needed
• Collaborate with other field representatives or Project Managers
• Read and interpret construction drawings and specifications, and identify discrepancies or conflicts within documents
• Conduct and document observations of construction as it progresses
• Serve as the most senior inspector on projects as needed
• Perform other duties as needed

Required Qualifications

• Requires high school diploma or equivalent. (Candidates with 8 years of relevant construction inspection experience may substitute experience for a high school diploma)
