Job summary

HDR is seeking a Project Supervisor to lead field inspections across civil infrastructure projects in the United States. You will document progress, mentor junior staff, collaborate with project teams, and ensure drawings and specs are followed.

This role strengthens HDR’s employee-owned, collaborative culture while delivering critical infrastructure improvements. Preferred candidates hold an associate degree or technical training, certifications, and the ability to interpret schedules.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; substitution possible with 8 years of relevant construction inspection experience.
• 5+ years of experience in construction inspection.
• Proficient with MS Office (Word/Excel/Outlook).
• Strong written communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Conduct and document observations of construction progress for civil projects (roads, bridges, water/wastewater facilities, pump stations, pipelines).
• Mentor junior field staff and provide supervision as needed.
• Collaborate with other field representatives or Project Managers.
• Read and interpret construction drawings and specifications; identify discrepancies.
• Serve as the most senior inspector on projects as needed.
• Perform other duties as needed.
