HDR is seeking a Chief Inspector to conduct and document observations of civil construction progress, ensuring quality and safety across projects in New York. The role includes mentoring junior staff, interpreting drawings, and coordinating with project managers.

Requires a high school diploma or equivalent (8 years experience possible substitution). Proficiency in MS Office and strong written communication are essential; visa sponsorship is not available.

Responsibilities

• Conduct and document observations of construction for civil projects (roads, bridges).
• Mentor junior field staff and provide supervision as needed.
• Collaborate with Project Managers and field representatives.
• Read and interpret construction drawings and specifications; identify discrepancies.
• Identify nonconforming work and maintain punchlists until corrected.
• Serve as senior inspector on projects as needed.
• Perform other duties as needed.
