Job summary

Bechtel Corporation seeks a Senior Field Geotechnical Engineer for the Micron project in Clay, NY. The role provides on-site leadership for deep foundation and earthwork construction, including drilled shafts socketed into rock and ground improvement through over-excavation and granular fill.

Expect field supervision, coordination with the Engineer of Record and client, and extensive site documentation. Ideal candidates hold an MS in Geotechnical Engineering (or PhD) with significant field

Qualifications

• MS in Geotechnical Engineering or PhD with progressive related experience.
• PE registration in the U.S. is required or obtainable by comity.
• Field experience supervising deep foundation and earthwork operations.

Responsibilities

• Supervise drilled shaft construction socketed into rock on-site.
• Oversee earthwork with ground improvement and granular fill.
• Verify shaft location, plumbness, diameter, and embedment per drawings.
• Review logs, tickets and inspection records for compliance.
• Support load testing programs and witness testing activities.
• Coordinate with home-office engineering and construction teams.
• Maintain site daily reports and quality records.
