Job summary

Bechtel Corporation seeks a Lead Field Engineer (Drilled Piers) for the Micron Project in Clay, NY. The role provides technical guidance to Bechtel and subcontractor field supervision on drilled shaft operations and activities.

You will supervise and coach field teams, develop installation work packages, coordinate schedules, track quantities, and ensure conformance to design drawings and standards on a long-term site assignment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related technical field with 5–8 years of relevant experience, or 9–12 years without a degree.
• Demonstrated ability to manage teams and coordinate field activities on major projects.
• Experience implementing Bechtel Standard Work Process Procedures and Bechtel BSAP systems.

Responsibilities

• Perform inspections and document field activity for all drilled shaft installations.
• Support field supervision in manpower, tools, equipment, and material planning for work evolutions.
• Develop installation work packages aligned with construction schedules.
• Prepare and coordinate short- and long-term schedules with superintendents and engineers.
• Execute field material takeoffs from construction drawings.
• Provide quantity tracking input and weekly reporting to Project Controls.
• Prepare field material requisitions and monitor PO deliveries.
• Assist field procurement with inspections and maintenance scheduling.
• Troubleshoot design issues with engineering and fabricators using field documentation.
