Job summary

Computacenter seeks a senior Field Engineering SME focused on Workplace delivery to shape scoping, delivery, validation, and improvement across large programs. You will bridge sales, solutions, and field delivery, establishing technical standards and repeatable artifacts while guiding multi-site deployments and partner-driven work.

You will mentor teams, drive continuous improvement, and ensure alignment between what is sold and what is delivered, including capturing lessons for future projects.

Qualifications

• Ten+ years in workplace tech/field deployment or related professional services.
• Experience delivering complex projects in live environments.
• Deep understanding of field implementation, validation, and customer readiness.
• Experience creating technical standards, deployment playbooks, checklists, or training materials.
• Experience supporting sales pursuits, solution development, estimating, and SOWs.
• Experience leading technical escalations and root cause analysis.
• Experience working with employees, contractors, and delivery partners in distributed models.
• Ability to translate technical detail into clear business language.
• Willingness to travel and support nonstandard hours.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the practice level technical authority for Workplace delivery across Field Engineering.
• Review scope, field conditions, and assumptions for complex opportunities.
• Determine feasibility and proper scoping with Sales, Solutions, and Costing teams.
• Develop and maintain repeatable technical standards and artifacts.
• Define deployment, staging, validation, and closeout methods for high-volume programs.
• Support engineers and delivery teams during deployments, escalations, and quality issues.
• Define training and qualification expectations for Field Engineering personnel and partners.
• Assess partner capabilities and readiness for defined work types.
• Analyze defects and lessons learned to improve standards and costs.
• Lead knowledge transfer and documentation to improve future labor estimates.
• Launch new services via pilots, readiness reviews, and repeatable delivery methods.
• Oversee deskside technology rollout, collaboration tools, and device replacements.
