Job summary

MWH Constructors is seeking a Senior Resident Engineer to oversee field inspection staff and ensure projects meet plans, specs, and contract requirements in Sacramento, CA.

The role interfaces with owners, engineers, and regulators to coordinate progress, safety, and quality while managing schedule and budget. CCM or PMP is preferred and Primavera P6 or MS Project experience is desired.

Qualifications

• Four-year degree in engineering, construction management, or related field.
• Minimum 10+ years’ experience in inspection, construction, or operations.
• Experience on municipal water and/or wastewater infrastructure projects.
• Thorough knowledge of construction, union jurisdiction, labor agreements.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, organizational, supervisory and planning skills.
• Familiarity with data management software.

Responsibilities

• Attend construction meetings in support of the Construction Manager.
• Organize and chair weekly progress meetings.
• Review plans, specifications, and shop drawings to identify and resolve issues with the contractor.
• Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly reporting for the Construction Manager.
• Monitor and control to ensure project is built on schedule and within budget.
• Evaluate contractor’s cost proposals and develop preliminary cost estimates.
• Maintain field records such as daily reports and as-built drawings.
• Prepare trend reporting for issues impacting progress or changes.
• Identify potential risk or claims arising from contractor activities.
• Coordinate contractor activities with local community needs.
• Assist in implementing the safety program and follow company safety guidelines.
• Attend local industry networking events.
