Job summary

EWI Recruitment is seeking an experienced Field Engineer – Pipe for major heavy civil and pipework projects in the Greenville area. Working on-site, you will provide technical guidance, coordinate engineering activities and help ensure that works are completed safely, accurately, on programme and in accordance with approved designs and specifications.

Qualifications

• A relevant engineering or construction qualification is desirable.
• Experience in heavy civil engineering, utilities or major pipework projects is preferred.
• Proficiency with setting out and surveying, and the ability to interpret technical drawings.

Responsibilities

• Set out and oversee pipework, utilities, drainage and associated civil engineering works.
• Review drawings, specifications, schedules and construction methodologies before and during delivery.
• Carry out site inspections, measurements and quality checks, ensuring works comply with approved documentation and applicable standards.
• Coordinate with construction teams and subcontractors to resolve technical queries and prevent delays.
• Prepare and maintain inspection and test plans, permits, records, progress reports and as-built information.
• Monitor materials, levels, line and grade, installation tolerances and completed works.
• Support surveying, testing, commissioning and handover activities as required.
• Identify risks, defects or design discrepancies and elevate issues promptly with practical recommendations.
• Promote a strong culture of health, safety, environmental responsibility and quality on site.
