Job summary

VAS, Inc. in Aiken, SC seeks a Construction Discipline Engineer (Pipe/Mechanical Field Engineer) to lead field installation and construction execution within piping/mechanical disciplines.

You will assess designs for constructability, prepare work packages, and ensure compliance with codes and project specs during procurement, fabrication, and installation. You will collaborate with design teams, perform hazard analyses, review materials, and support turnover, startup, and commissioning

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or associate or high school with commensurate experience in piping/mechanical construction.
• Experience generating work execution plans and hazards analyses.
• Experience with material take-off and procurement.
• Familiarity with ASME B31.1 and B31.3 and piping guides is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Review design output and vendor documents.
• Conduct field walk downs with design engineers.
• Verify constructability and code compliance in field conditions.
• Develop and expedite BOM; track material delivery.
• Generate work instructions and test records; support quality control.
