Job summary

The Middlesex Corporation is seeking a Field Engineer to support on-site engineering, scheduling, and quality control for heavy civil projects in Boston, MA. You will review plans, coordinate field activities, and help ensure work meets project specifications and safety standards.

Ideal candidates bring a four-year engineering or construction management background and 2+ years of field experience, with proficiency in MS Office and construction software.

Qualifications

• Four-year engineering or construction management degree or equivalent combinations of technical training and/or two years of relevant experience in heavy-civil construction projects.
• Preferred two or more years’ construction field experience on heavy civil or infrastructure projects.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and BlueBeam.
• Experience with HCSS HeavyJob, Vista, CAD, and P6 preferred.
• Valid Driver’s License required.

Responsibilities

• Support on-site engineering functions and quality control to meet project specifications.
• Develop activity schedules and CPM plans; track progress and costs.
• Coordinate with subcontractors, procurement, and field crews to keep work on schedule.
• Prepare cost reporting and assist in field surveys and layout activities.
• Ensure safety compliance and participate in risk assessments and toolbox talks.
