Job summary

The Middlesex Corporation is seeking an Field Engineer - Rail in Littleton, MA, to support on-site engineering functions, maintain safety and quality control, and coordinate project schedules and plans. The role emphasizes close collaboration with field teams to ensure work aligns with project specifications and budgets.

Ideal candidates hold a four-year engineering or construction management degree (or equivalent) with 2+ years of heavy civil field experience, and are proficient in MS Office,

Qualifications

• Four-year engineering or construction management degree or equivalent combinations of technical training and or two (2) years of relevant experience in a similar capacity in heavy‑civil construction projects.
• Preferred 2+ years' construction field experience on heavy civil or infrastructure related projects.
• Proficient computer knowledge including Microsoft Office, BlueBeam.
• Preferred experience utilizing; HCSS HeavyJob, Vista, CAD, P6.

Responsibilities

• Support on-site engineering functions and project execution per plans and specifications.
• Promote and enforce safety policies to align with Safety First values.
• Develop and manage CPM schedules, activity durations, and narratives.
• Assist in budgeting, manpower, equipment, and material resource planning.
• Coordinate submittals, shop drawings, RFIs, and project documentation.
• Perform quantity takeoffs and basic engineering calculations to support field operations.
