Job summary

Jonah Energy LLC seeks a Senior Field EHS Specialist to support drilling, completions, and production operations in Texas. The role leads EHS programs, coaches field teams, and ensures compliance with OSHA and environmental regulations while fostering a proactive safety culture.

Working with limited supervision, you will analyze complex EHS risks, conduct inspections and incident investigations, and develop corrective actions.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of progressively responsible EHS experience in oil and gas or similar industrial environment.
• Working knowledge of OSHA, environmental regulations, API practices, ANSI standards, and state requirements.
• Ability to identify hazards, evaluate risk, and implement corrective actions.
• Ability to perform inspections, audits, safety observations, and compliance verification.
• Ability to analyze EHS performance data and identify trends for improvements.
• Experience with incident investigation and root cause analyses.
• Familiarity with emissions monitoring and Optical Gas Imaging (OGI).
• OGI Level 1 Thermographer certification preferred or willingness to obtain.

Responsibilities

• Provide day-to-day EHS support to field operations (drilling, completions, production).
• Promote a strong safety culture through leadership and engagement.
• Conduct field inspections, audits, observations, and hazard assessments for compliance.
• Perform risk assessments and JSAs to support safe work execution.
• Lead complex incident investigations and corrective-action development.
• Monitor regulatory compliance (OSHA, environmental rules) and company policies.
• Develop and improve EHS policies, programs, and management systems.
• Deliver safety meetings, orientations, toolbox talks, and training.
