Job summary

Dematic seeks a Controls Technician to travel to customer sites and perform electrical and control system audits, interfacing with the engineering team to align results with project scopes.

You will assist early installation, review control infrastructure, and help plan demolition and start-up. A strong candidate has field experience, AB PLC knowledge, and ASI tool familiarity, enabling close collaboration with design teams.

Qualifications

• Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Engineering Technology preferred.
• 3-5 years of successful field experience.
• Willingness to travel to customer sites (~80%).
• Experience with Allen-Bradley PLC based control systems.
• Experience with Bihl and Wiedermann tools (ASi Controls Tools, ASIMON).
• Ability to read electrical schematics and controls documentation.

Responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive electrical and control system audits at customer sites.
• Assess Legacy and distributed control architectures including Ethernet, ASi, CAN, Profibus, and other fieldbus networks.
• Evaluate control power distribution systems and verify Ethernet-based networks.
• Identify gaps and risks; document audit results clearly for project scopes.
• Interface with customers to clarify requirements and support follow-up actions.
• Prepare detailed audit reports and documentation.
