Job summary

ERM in Charleston, West Virginia, seeks a Senior Consultant, Geologist/Engineer to lead field investigations, data interpretation, and remediation planning on complex environmental projects. You will collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver rigorous, science‑driven solutions for clients across industries.

This role requires a strong safety mindset, 3+ years of environmental field experience, and the ability to travel regionally and nationally.

Qualifications

Bachelor's in geology, hydrogeology, engineering, environmental science, or related field.
3+ years of environmental field, report writing, and safety training.
40-hour OSHA HAZWOPER certification required.
Valid driver's license and ability to travel regionally.
Ability to lift at least 40 pounds.
Not eligible for immigration sponsorship.

Responsibilities

Conduct field activities, including soil, sediment, groundwater, surface water, soil vapor, and indoor air sampling.
Oversee subcontractors and assist with remediation and construction management.
Perform Phase I and II environmental assessments for property transfer support.
Compile, evaluate, and interpret environmental data; assist with detailed technical reports.
Prepare environmental compliance plans, permits, and remediation‑related documentation.
Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.
Deliver within established quality, budget, and schedule expectations.
Communicate effectively with subcontractors, regulators, clients, and site tenants during fieldwork.
