Job summary

ERM is seeking a Consulting Associate, Engineer to contribute to environmental and engineering projects from a Charleston-based role with a remote/hybrid setup. You will engage in inspection, design, and reporting across energy and infrastructure sectors while developing practical expertise and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams.

The role emphasizes field and office work, travel to various client locations, and delivering compliant, sustainable solutions aligned with client objectives.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil, Environmental, Geotechnical, or related engineering field or equivalent experience.
• Strong working knowledge of MS Office Suite.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Excellent communication skills for collaborating with project managers, technical teams, and clients.
• Driver’s License Required: valid license and/or ability to operate a company vehicle due to travel across large geographical area.
• This position is not eligible for immigration sponsorship.

Responsibilities

• Perform environmental inspections and support stormwater compliance during construction.
• Assist with civil and environmental engineering design deliverables (site plans, erosion & sediment control, stormwater management).
• Prepare technical reports, permit applications, and field documentation.
• Participate in field-based and office-based project work across energy, manufacturing, and infrastructure projects.
• Collaborate with project teams to deliver high-quality technical solutions meeting client objectives.
• Ensure health, safety, risk, and quality standards on all assignments.
