Job summary

ERM in Charleston, West Virginia, seeks a Senior Consultant, Geologist/Engineer to lead field investigations and remediation projects. Based in Charleston with opportunities for nationwide and global travel, you will collaborate with technical experts to advance site investigations, remediation strategies, and regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s in geology, hydrogeology, engineering, environmental science, or related field or equivalent experience.
• 3+ years of relevant environmental field experience, including field work, report writing, and safety training.
• 40-hour OSHA HAZWOPER certification required.
• Willingness and ability to perform full-day field work and travel for multi-week assignments.

Responsibilities

• Conduct field activities: soil, groundwater, surface water sampling and related tasks.
• Oversee subcontractors and assist with remediation and construction management.
• Perform Phase I and II environmental assessments for property transfer support.
• Compile, evaluate, and interpret environmental data; assist with technical reports.
