Job summary

Stantec is seeking a Senior Biologist to join our team in San Diego (Aero) on a part-time, on-call basis. The candidate will support desktop reviews, wildlife and plant surveys, wetland delineations, and environmental permitting for diverse projects across private, municipal, state, and federal clients.

You will collaborate with project managers, scientists, and engineers, performing fieldwork, data collection, mapping, and reporting while advancing natural resource studies for infrastructure

Qualifications

• Minimum 10 years of experience in natural resource / biological services in Southern California.
• Experience conducting floristic botanical surveys, reconnaissance wildlife surveys, and species-specific protocol surveys.
• Possession of a California Scientific Collecting Permit, State MOU, and federal Recovery Permit is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Desktop review for biological resources.
• Wildlife surveys and habitat assessments.
• Wetland delineations and aquatic assessments (lake and stream).
• Preparing regulatory permit applications.
• Background environmental data reviews and reviews of Threatened and Endangered species.
• Biological/environmental compliance construction monitoring.
