Job summary

Stantec in San Diego (Aero) is seeking a Senior Biologist with a minimum of 10 years of natural resources experience for a part-time, on-call role. The position supports desktop reviews, wildlife and plant surveys, wetland delineations, and regulatory permitting, with potential to work with teams nationwide.

Ideal candidates have coastal California expertise, field survey proficiency, and the ability to coordinate with agencies on complex natural resources projects.

Qualifications

• Strong background in flora, fauna and vegetative communities of southern California.
• Experience in floristic and wildlife surveys and species-specific protocols.
• Possession of relevant California/Federal permits is a plus.
• Willingness to travel and conduct fieldwork in remote areas.

Responsibilities

• Desktop review for biological resources and regulatory permit applications.
• Wildlife surveys, habitat assessments, and vegetation inventories.
• Wetland delineations and aquatic assessments; data entry and reporting.
• Assist with written reports, tables, spreadsheets, and maps.
