Job summary

Modern Machining Solutions Inc is seeking an experienced Assistant Technical Applications Manager to lead engineering and field support for industrial gas detection, atmospheric monitoring, and automation systems. You will design control architectures, program PLCs, and troubleshoot complex field issues while collaborating with cross-functional teams.

Role combines office engineering with hands-on field service at customer sites, requiring travel for commissioning and ongoing support.

Qualifications

• 10+ years in applications engineering, controls, automation, or related field.
• Bachelor's degree in Electrical/Electronics engineering or related discipline.
• Strong hands-on experience with installations, startup, commissioning, and field support.
• Experience programming/troubleshooting Allen-Bradley and/or IDEC PLCs and HMIs preferred.
• Strong knowledge of Modbus RTU/TCP and industrial communications.
• Understanding of 4–20mA, 0–5V, 0–10V signals and related instrumentation.

Responsibilities

• Serve as a senior technical resource for gas detection, automation, monitoring, and control system applications.
• Lead system design activities including control architecture and automation strategies.
• Configure, program, troubleshoot, and support PLCs, HMIs, and industrial networks.
• Manage projects from concept through commissioning and field support.
• Develop technical proposals, system documentation, and operating manuals.
