Job summary

Amphenol Communications Solutions seeks a Senior Field Applications Engineer to serve as the primary technical interface between customers and internal engineering teams. This engineering-first role combines technical problem solving with a strong commercial focus to identify needs, develop solutions, and drive design wins from concept to production.

The ideal candidate will be a Mechanical or Electrical Engineer who enjoys working with customers, translating requirements into business

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• 5+ years of experience in Field Applications Engineering, Design Engineering, Technical Sales, or similar.
• Strong technical knowledge of connectors and interconnect systems.
• Experience with CAD software such as Creo or SolidWorks.
• Strong presentation and communication skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office 365.

Responsibilities

• Serve as primary technical contact for assigned customer accounts; build relationships with engineering, purchasing, and program management teams.
• Partner with Regional Sales Managers to identify, develop, and close new business opportunities.
• Drive technical design wins by understanding customer applications and recommending Amphenol solutions.
• Support customers through product development cycle from concept to production.
• Collaborate with Engineering, Product Management, and Manufacturing to develop customized solutions.
• Conduct customer visits, technical presentations, product demonstrations, and design reviews.
• Provide technical guidance on connectors and interconnect products.
• Review customer drawings and specifications using CAD tools.
• Influence customer design decisions by demonstrating technical advantages.
• Support new product launches and communicate feedback to internal teams.
• Maintain awareness of industry trends and emerging technologies for growth opportunities.
• Travel regularly to customer sites to strengthen relationships.
