Job summary

Optimum is seeking a Maintenance Tech III in Parkersburg, WV to repair and maintain fiber and coaxial transport and distribution networks for residential and business services. You will support headend electronics and critical infrastructure, troubleshooting from the headend to customer devices, and mentor junior technicians as needed.

The role requires a high school diploma and valid driver's license with DOT qualifications. Prior ISP experience and FTTH/RFOG knowledge are highly valued.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Valid driver's license in good standing and ability to meet DOT medical standards.
• Ability to obtain state licenses as required for installation/ servicing.
• Experience with FTTH & RFOG networks and fiber repair.
• Ability to operate testing equipment (signal level meters, ohm meters).
• DOT/CDL where applicable; preferred certifications (BDS & BTS).
• ISP experience or adjacent field experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot and repair networks from headend to customer devices and perform preventive maintenance.
• Maintain a unity gain network and complete FCC-required tests.
• Build, troubleshoot, and repair FTTH and RFOG networks and headend interfaces.
• Coordinate with Design, Construction, ISP, NOC/ROC to resolve escalated issues.
• Mentor and train lower-level technicians; develop materials for best practices.
• Support installation and service calls to exceed customer expectations.
