Job summary

PEAKE is seeking a Network Infrastructure Installation Technician for a 10-month DoW contract in Norfolk. The role requires active DoD Secret clearance, 5+ years in cabling, and hands-on fiber optic installation and testing.

You will work on CAT6 and fiber systems, terminate copper and fiber cabling, and follow DISA procedures. The position emphasizes safety, team leadership, and the ability to operate within a military communications environment, with benefits including health, dental, vision,

Qualifications

• Active DoD Secret clearance or higher is required.
• 5+ years of relevant experience in cabling and construction trades.
• Fiber optic installation, termination, and testing experience.
• Experience with Fluke and OTDR testing and fiber troubleshooting.
• Knowledge of DISA installation procedures (NIPR, SIPR, JWICS, Centrix).

Responsibilities

• CAT 6 and Fiber Optic structured cable distribution system installation.
• Terminate all forms of Ethernet and fiber, test with appropriate equipment.
• Experience with fiber characterization testing and resolution.
• Install, terminate, and test copper and fiber cabling.
• Install closet hardware: backboards, racks, patch panels, fiber enclosures.
• Attend training and safety meetings, and work safely at all times.
• Familiarity with DISA installation procedures and JWICS/Centrix guidelines.
